A antiga usina de Açucar era conhecida como Engenho Central do Bracuhy e foi inaugurada dia 12 de Junho de 1885, com a presença do então Ministro da Agricultura, Conselheiro Antônio Carneiro da Rocha. Em 1886 a firma, Souza Irmão & Cia, passou o controle do empreendimento à empresa Furquim Vapper & Cia. O Engenho se destacava, na época, pela sua forma de produção. Seu sistema de difusão, a vapor, diferenciava, e muito, do esmagamento da cana em moendas. No final do século passado, entrou em decadência junto com a indústria de açucar no Brasil.

The old mill was known as Sugar Mill Central Bracuhy and was inaugurated on June 12, 1885, attended by the then Minister of Agriculture, Director Antonio Carneiro da Rocha. In 1886 the firm, Souza Brothers & Co, has control of the venture company Furquim VAPP & Co. The Mill stood out at the time, its way of production. Its broadcast system, steam, differed very much, the crushing of the cane mill. At the end of the last century it fell into decay along with the sugar industry in Brazil.
