When I was a kid, my mom had a babysitter watch me one summer. The babysitter, who was also a neighbor and her friend, abused me. The woman was terrifying, and did some bad things that caused me to develop some psychological issues (I was in therapy from ages 12-19). My mom and family also had a hand in doing some cruel things, but my mom drinks and drank back then.
