In 1924 the government gave Calvet Bernat 10.000 square meter of land on top of the Puig de Caragol to build a monument dedicated to Our Lady of Peace. This work was never performed, although in 1940 they built a chapel dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and a small cross
The 22 meter high concrete pedestrial was build in 1967 The sculpture on top of the Immaculate Conception " Our Lady of Peace" dates from 1985 and is the work of artist Joan Ginard Artà Ferrer,
called Sarasate (1915-1990).
