As a giant tricycle equipped with a towering camcorder made its way around the Green about a year ago, many students stopped to stare quizzically at the contraption. This week, the data collected — along with images from more than twenty other colleges and universities — became part of a Google Street View initiative that enables viewers to virtually tour campuses from all over the world at street-level.

I am not new to photography. I understand all of the basics such as aperture and shutter speed and everything from exposure to depth of field. I have not purchased a DSLR yet and I am beginning to refine my search to about two. The two I had in mind are the Canon Rebel T2i or the Canon EOS 50D.(I tend to stay away from the Nikon side of cameras). I am stuck between these two because I love the video side of the T2i but I also love the 6 frames per second continuous shooting on the 50D. Keep i...

Open Question: Oil or acrylic paint? 02/08/12 6:08 am
I've neer really tried painting before, but I kind of feel like it might be a good way to get my mind off of things. I'm a college student living in the dorms though, and I don't know if oil paint would smell too strong to use in my room. I don't care about the smell, but if the whole building smells like paint people are going to complain. So which one is better for a beginner artist, and if it's oil, how strong is the smell?
Also, does painting require a lot of talent? I've never been much ...
